I took the doors off the closet since they slid and you couldn't get to the middle, then put shelves in and clear plastic bins so I can see all the supplies. I then put curtains over the opening so when I have visitors, it looks a little neater.

    Hi,

I just took some pictures with my cell phone and sent them to my email address. I clicked on the photo and saved it to my computer so I can post pictures here to show you my ideas and sewing rooms.

I have a digital camera but haven't had time to figure out how to use it yet so will use my cell phone.

    I like:

pegboard, with LONG hooks to hold spools of thread, reels of ribbon, scissors... and you can use a pair of hooks to support a piece of wood for shelving, or a small plastic basket or box.

bookshelves... 'cause the shelves are narrow, about the width of a bolt of fabric

lots of plastic drawers... if you choose the sizes correctly, you can stuff lots of them underneath a cutting table.

Forgot something on my other post - I have a "clothes line" strung up in my sewing room, too. After fabric is ironed, I simply pin it to the clothes line and it stays nice and wrinkle free.

Here's the photo. Looks a bit messy - but it is really organized. I store the larger ( 2 yards or more) pieces of fabric under my bed.

    Hi,

    cool ideas thanks for sharing!

I am thinking of getting a curtain rod to put above our closet in our bedroom and then make a curtain for it to pin on a table cloth when I need to have a design wall. I will make a valance for it to hide the hardware. I'm trying to figure out exactly how to have a design wall? Any other ideas?

Karen, i used white felt..i think it comes 60 wide at Joanns. i also hung mine from cheap curtain rods..and the curtain holders that clip on the fabic..pinch the fabric, is a more accurate description. that was when i used the basement as a sewing room, but i don't have the wall space now.
some have used foam board..my friend put one up on the back of her door in the sewing room.. narrow, but worked for her..she just wanted to audition fabric/blocks with borders ideas..etc..
here is a link of ideas,

this is a brilliant idea,i just found!
"I don't have the room for a design wall so I use a window shade covered with flannel. I can roll it up in the window when not in use. Window shades come in many widths so there should be one to fit your space."
