Default Jenny Doan demonstrates the Creative Grids Pineapple Tool Ruler

Jenny's demo of this ruler is today's video from MSQC. (A few of us were discussing this particular ruler/template a few weeks ago, and I posted about my experience using it.)

She does an excellent demo and explanation of how to use the ruler.

I also just received a copy of the book written by the inventor of the ruler, Jean Ann Wright. It's called Pineapple Play Quilts and Projects. I really like the book and can't wait to do another project using this ruler!

Yes, I watched the tute also and for someone who wants to do that pattern, it looks a sure thing in accuracy. I looked up the price of the template too. I have too many others before I would try this one though.

There's a lot of waste doing it that way. I saw a F&P Quilting Quickly video a couple of days before Jenny's came out. No waste and you get bonus squares for a second quilt as well. And NO special ruler

I also watched the video and was very impressed, and preferred the scrappy quilt she did than the one from bright charm packs. I was placing an order anyway for Kona Snow so I added in the pineapple ruler. With winter approaching, it will be my winter scrap project. Looking forward to making it and quilting it myself on my new long arm.

It really is fun to use once you get the hang of it! I'm looking forward to starting my next project.

I have this ruler and have made several blocks for a guild demo. The ruler makes it easier as I have made this pattern before without a special ruler. In fact I have both sizes of the ruler. The mini is great for scraps. The little waste is not something I fret over. I also like the Positively Pineapple book and ruler. It was my first pineapple block other then paper piecing which was too tedious for me for this pattern. I like to try all the different ways to make a block. One way may have me saying never again and then another way will have me saying this is easy and fun.

I have this ruler in both sizes too. I use the small size the most.
