I will sure miss those beautiful fabrics. They made some of the most beautiful fabrics I have seen and used.

I agree; it is sad. So sorry to hear of many of our favorites going out of business.

Its just a thought. I am not a business minded person. But I have seen a lot of small business closing around here to. A lot of them are fabric store. So when the news says the economy is getting better I really have my doubts. But I do love fabric and I try to be wise on how I spend our money. So I look for sales and buy the fabric that fits into our budget! But will really miss the Kona fabric it is one of my favorites!

Unfortunate to see the discontinuing of Kona Bay fabrics. I have read a lot of brick and mortar stores are struggling due to online fabric purchases. I did note our local quilt shop has chosen to sell on etsy or online as well...that may be a key in successful business in these days. Shopping has changed...no two ways about it.

The small business here are going out due to the so many regulations imposed on them. They can't comply and make enough to stay profitable. Many are saying enough is enough, I'm out.

I have spoken to many quilt shop owners- brick and mortar stores--one of the biggest challenges is online shops that tremendously discount popular items sometimes below what a quilt shop owner buys her own goods at wholesale. This is predatory pricing--pricing to block others from the market. Please shop your local stores before going online. The slogan "Shop local" really is support the small business so that they will be able to exist in your area. At least for us, regulations are not an issue...at all.

I've been trying to find the black background hummingbird Flight of Colors with no luck except for one yard left in UK and they don't mail to USA. I didn't run across Kona Bay's email until a few months ago. I've looked on eBay, amazon, etsy, and all the tried and true places where one can usually find things to no avail. Now I am periodically checking. Maybe one day I'll run across some.
