Liked the video. Will have to try it. Geri, I've sewn many times standing up. Had my sewing machine on the workbench one day and needed to do a couple quick stitches. Have also done some quick stash busting demo to DH. Now if he uses the portable, he moves it to the workbench. Oh Well!

I think if you do it right sides together, you're going to have hills and valleys when you open it up (like a curved side seam on a dress creates an indentation for the waist and a rounded shape for the hip...). You can press the seam allowance open but as a whole the seam with undulate up and down and you won't be able to press the piece flat...

I really enjoyed watching Rob Appell--always great to see a man sewing and giving his take on the subject. He is high energy and I think he appeals to young and older sewers. He brought some new ideas to quilt making. I look forward to what other ideas he brings to us.
