    The first video has a couple great tips for selecting fabrics! One involves creating what they call a design board, consisting of fabrics, pictures, threads, yarn, etc of colors you like and finding fabrics that pick up those or similar colors. The other way is to pick spools of thread in colors you like and finding fabrics along those lines. I highly recommend you watch the Lesson 1 video even if you aren't going to do the quilt.
