Michael's
Finally went into the new Michael's store that opened near me, and -----No Fabric!! And there is a big empty space as you come in the door, too. Not a very good use of the space.
Does your Michael's carry fabric or not? Thank goodness we still have a Joann's here.

I have never seen fabric in a Michael's.
they few notions they carry that are useful to quilters are usually far more expensive than can be found in other stores.
that said, i know my non-quilty-but-crafty friends really like Michael's. they do carry a lot of nice things for other crafts.

I agree, just a few fat quarters in ours here. The quality is more of crafting than quilting too. We do now have a Hobby Lobby so that helps. All of our fabric stores are in the surrounding towns but in Norfolk we do have Fabric Hut, the good thing is that when Hancock's went out of business FH lowered their prices (unlike Joann's) and most of their fabric is 60in, especially garment fabric. We also don't have too many small stores in the area anymore. We just lost one but to me that wasn't a bad thing. The good thing is that now 4 of our Tidewater Sew n Vacs are now carrying fabric and more will. Some of the stores are to small but the other will carry fabric and its good quality fabric.

Our Michaels has some prepackaged two-yard pieces in solids, plus other fabric like burlap, canvas, etc. You can buy fabric on their website, though. You have to dig to find quilting fabric:
