I called Brother and my local dealer just last week about this model - wanted to know the throat space and how many lights - and neither could give me any info about it! I'm thinking about going to test drive the qc 1000, tho.

the QC 1000 is the same machine, the laura ashley is the new model with more stitches, the only extra accessories are the circular attachment and bobbin case for bobbin work and it is about 1500 dollars more, i asked because i have the Babylock Espire and wanted to know the difference.

I just looked at that website. Prices seems really high. One looks the same as a Walmart machine which is 369.99 but 1700 here...maybe its different??

I am getting this machine next month and really looking forward to it. I have stitched with it, gone through the manual and found several reviews online. I'm hooked and my goal will be to find ways to use all those great stitches.
