    Default New Fabric pen.

    http://www.pentel.com/store/gel-roller-for-fabric

I read on Bonnie Hunter's blog about a new fabric pen. I bought one at Walmart to try. Two in a package for $3.88. First I have to say it is the best writing pen I've used for fabric. The ink flowed smoothly and evenly. No bleeding. I wrote on a scrap of fabric and tossed it in the wash with regular laundry. I washed and dried it at least a dozen times, some loads with bleach. Here is the result so far.

Interesting. Great that you did a test on it.

The link says that the pen has been permanently discontinued?

Yup, every where one might pick one up >JoAnn's, Walmart, etc.< says it is permanently out of stock. Must have been too good of a product.

I did some searching and called several office supply stores. The best info I got about the pens were they weren't selling at the office supply stores so they weren't being reordered. The company will usually discontinue a product that doesn't generate re orders. Odd the pens weren't marketed for crafts but in the office/stationary products. I ordered a box of 12 pens from Amazon. This should last me for all my quilt labels. This pen is really worth it. Writes like butter on fabric.

This pen says for fabric marking. I don't know if it is the same as the regular gel pen. The gel pens I have tried all wash out of fabric.

That's funny. I always mix my letters. Some capitol, some not. Some letters I like better in capitol form instead of lower case.

$10.xx at Walmart.com -- too pricey for me.
Shame Pentel didn't market the pen for crafts rather than office supplies.
