I am also pre-cutting today. Here are my colors. Both fabrics are thrift store purchases. The light fabric is a polished cotton with some gold shimmer. I knew it looked like a drapery fabric and when I got it home and unfolded it, it was not drapes. To me it looked like some kind of big alter draping. When I measured it the total yardage was 22.5 yards which cost me all of $7.99 which equals a little over $.35 a yard.

The large floral is another large drapery panel from the thrift store. Equivalent cost per yard was about $.75 a yard. All the fabrics are 100% cotton. Hey, if it's cotton, it is a quilt candidate!

Caroline: Really love your print fabric but wonder if it might be lost when you cut it into small pieces. My two fabric choices are very, very, very bright. The quilt is destined for my fifteen year old GD. That probably says it all.

Caroline: Looking forward to seeing your beautiful fabrics in a quilt. I've only done one other two colored quilt. They make such a strong statement and the younger set seems to really love the simplicity.

Emma, it is a good idea that I started cutting for this quilt. LOT's of cutting. Here is a pic of the dark floral 2" blocks laid out on the light fabric. The colors are much stronger than the pic. I think the darks will work OK
