Default New "toy" for retreats and classes

I was asked to bring an 18 x 24 cutting matt to the Eleanor Burns class I'm signed up for at the Houston Festival (YEAH!!!). I didn't have one - mine are way too big or way too small. At JoAnn's today they had a folded Olfa cutting mat that is just perfect. This one will fold in half and fit in my bag of supplies I need to bring. I was able to use the 40% off coupon. I thought would share because it just made me happy!

Very interesting! You will have to tell us how it does at your class!

I saw them in my newest quilting magazine. I too would need a coupon. Pricey mats.

Fiskars use to make a folding mat a long time ago. I remember the fold made it difficult to use, something like that, it's been too long. I didn't use it much at all. The mat was discontinued. Maybe this new one will be better.

I'll be listening to see how the 'unfolds seamlessly' works.
In my own experience if you are cutting across a seam, the rotary cutter leaves a connected thread/threads between the two pieces of fabric.

If they have cured that problem, that is probably reflected in the high price.

That is a wonderful toy for classes or wherever and with a 40% off coupon to boot, can't ask for better than that.

Have fun. EB is a hoot at the Houston show. Be sure to have a good pair of walking shoes.

I have seen that mat and was curious if it really works. I was skeptical if you can really cut across the fold line with no problems. Looks interesting though. My thought were that with the fold line being curvy like that it might just work well. I would also be curious how it holds up over time. I was heading to JoAnns this morning as I can get an extra 20% teacher discount today.
