    had to look up centimeters to inches though for fabric requirements.

    The Star Table Runner Pattern is good too. Besides basically squares and hst's ( a couple of other also but nothing hard) it gives special instructions for doing the binding. Good tute. Good Link. Thanks for the heads up!

    Most people don't realize this but the reverse side of most sewers tape measures is in cms. So all you have to do is put your finger on the measurement and look on other side for the other measurement. Quite handy.

    yep my tape has that but i wouldn't measure to cut with that. I meant Meter. .85 is 33.5 in inches. everything else is in inches.

    There is no way you do exactly between metric and inches but for runners and things like that approx is fine! You can get pretty dang close. I have even used it for quilts which also is fine as lot as you are consistent.
