ool idea I have also seen where you can get a glass based lamp that you can fill with the spools and have your own personal thing going on-I keep mine in a jar just so that I can look at them and enjoy the colors-I have also seen where you can use them in with Angelina? fibers to make interesting fiber pieces to add to another fabric

I love this idea and then add the tape measure bow and then the vintage buttons. Such awesome ideas from all the creative people here. Can't wait to make one for my almost redecorated sewing room.

On the glass based lamp idea, I bought a lamp making kit and used an old blue mason filled with my husband's grandmother's vintage buttons. I now have a keepsake lamp for my sewing room.

I love this idea! I think I will use up the spools from my mom's collection and make these with my grandsons for next year. Thanks..

So funny, I was cleaning my sewing room today and I have a lot of wooden spools and old thread. This is a cute idea, however, I am not sure I want to do that with my wooden spools.... I need to find a way to not destroy the integrity of the spool and still use it.... thx.

What a fantastic way to display some of those wooden spools I can't help but collect! Thanks!

What a neat idea! And I like the idea of using fishing line to hold them together rather than hot glue. I'm a bit messy with that glue and sometimes my fingers get a little too close to the glue. And with the line, one can take them apart later if wanted and use them some other way. I also like the idea of measuring tape used as a bow or draped around the wreath. And adding buttons... How about a little old pair of scissors that are dull and not usable, a thimble too?
