Default Packaging Recycled For Used Sewing Machine Needles and Bent Pins

Burt's Bees makes a tinted lip balm that comes in a plastic blister package. The blister package holds a cardboard tube that then holds the separate plastic tube of lip balm. I bought the lip balm because I wanted to try it. I had no idea that the packaging would be this cool. The cardboard tube is closed on both ends and is the perfect size to store old needles and bent pins or you can even use it for your traveling sewing kit.

The lip balm was $6.62 at Walmart. And I'm really liking the lip balm as well.

Thought someone else might be able to use this.

Here's a picture of the tube.

I was thinking of trying this on my chapped lips but I didn't know that Walmart carried it. Thanks for the update.

When I had surgery, I had quite a lot of medications. One was a really large bottle, I use that for needles, even holds rotary blades (on an angle).

I use a plastic Mentos gum container - it's just the right height and has a nice secure snap open-closed hinged lid. I peeled off the label and wrote "broken needles" on it in Sharpie. It's bright red so easy to find!

It's my favorite gum and I save the containers, they're handy for all sorts of things.

I use toilet paper rolls and paper towel rolls to get rid of sharp unusable non recyclable objects. Don't want to reach into the waste basket and risk getting cut. I save see through prescription bottles, remove and clean the adhesive residue off then save for the Malawi Project. It helps them send meds home with patients instead of an envelope or folded paper. The clinics get the meds in bulk but nothing to put the meds in.

Since I am a diabetic, and having to stick my fingers three (3+)
times per day there are always a bunch of empty test strip bottles.

So needless to say that is what I use.

Not a bad idea. I just use one of those small (8oz) water bottles to hold my used and broken needles and pins.

I use an empty Tic Tac container for broken needles and pins.
