    I found this blog about an 1880 quilt. All blocks are free and still available. The explaination makes it a great site for starters as well.

    I go to http://www.quiltindex.org/index.php
    and search for antique quilts. You can search by era, by region or state, or by pattern. You can zoom in and really see details. It is an awesome site.
