Thank- you, I printed out both blocks and will make them up this next week and post pics. I was hoping others would be following along as well. I’ll spread the word around.
I am using scraps and stash for the challenge, but confess I bought fabric for the backing. |
March is inspired by the Oriole. Here in Ohio, we are more likely to see the Orchard Oriole than the Baltimore Oriole. It’s color is a little more of a burnt orange or russet color. I’m diving into my stash hoping I find the perfect fabric.

I made two blocks again. I tried out the Dub Tucker’s Wing Clipper to trim down the flying geese. I liked it.

The April block has been released. April’s inspiration is the Purple Honeycreeper. The Purple Honeycreeper is found in tropical climates and they collect nectar. Here’s a link to the April block:

I have been collecting these blocks (haven't done any yet). They are very pretty. I especially like them with the black background.

Here are my two finished April blocks. I think the April block would make a striking quilt. But ...... I had a bunch of trouble with the points. Beginner with flying geese? Probably.

For those of you following the 2020 Color Challenge from Patterns with Jen, the June block was posted on June 1. Here is a link:
http://patternsbyjen.blogspot.com/20...challenge.html The inspiration for June is the Mountain Blue Bird. I think this month’s block is very striking. I had a bit of trouble getting the snowball seams to line up with the checkerboard seams. After seam ripping a few times, I decided to let it go. Here are my two blocks for the month. Thanks for looking. |
I am not making these block. But, I do enjoy seeing your postings.
