i just made several including ones for over eyes for sinus headaches i get. i used cracked corn as it seemed to make them "softer" than while kernals. they are great for my mid age aches and pains - stiff neck from too much machine work etc.

Bedwarmwe-what a great idea. I also love the idea of making on for my feet while on computer.
Thanks for sharing. |
I make a lot of rice bags. When I make a pillow case I buy extra fabric and make a matching bag .

I have one of these and I love it. Didn't know how to make them before though. Thanks.

Thanks! |
I have made a neck wrap before using a knee high sock and bird seed. I just tied a knot in the end of the sock and
heated it in the microwave also. It was around for a long time. But.........these look so much nicer! No way I'd give a tied up sock for a Christmas gift. LOL |
Thanks!

In our school district the boys must take a 'home-ec' for 1/2 of the school year. These bags were part of the course for sewing. I remember my youngest son coming home and making them night after night for about a week. He wanted to make one for everyone in the family and beyond, also in every size he could. We used corn at that time but later switched to rice which I liked better....its been many years ago and we still have a few of them around.
