Is this when you put the thicker thread in the bobbin and quilt from the back?? I hope you make e and post a photo. Be interesting to see more info.

No, I think this is hand quilting using thicker, flashier thread, with larger stitch per inch and rather free motion designs.....more modern. But, I may be wrong.

We should all get together and JAIL all the Quilt Police! I had to chuckle at your remark. There's one in every bunch. "You're not a true quilter if you do this, or do that"! It's ridiculous. Quilting is about a creative spirit. The quilt police will die a slow, painful, lonely death! :-)

I like the look of the big stitch quilting. It isn't for everyone (the naysayers) but I'm all for whatever trips your trigger. Yes I'd like to wrangle up and gather those quilt police and throw them all in the "Pokey".!

This can be both hand or machine quilting. Some threads can be used in the needle rather than bobbin.

mine was done by hand, using size 12 thread, and a large needle, on the new baby quilt with the birds

When I first started quilting, this was introduced to me as primitive quilting. I love how names change but the stitch is still the same.

Jan - thanks for posting about this.
