Some might use this. I would buy my own site in a mall and price my own merchandise. Being far away, they could set prices high than your selling price and double sip off the merchandise.

$50.00 a month is a bit high, especially if you still have to pay a percentage of your selling price.

I don't think you'll have to. Although I haven't found any details in writing.
I think that's going to be the pitch - that you only pay a listing fee. And then the deal is between the seller and buyer.
That mall shop for $50/month is a really interesting proposition.

Here's something from the owner/developer (video):

It seems to say that you have one month free befor you start the $50 I also think this is way to much money go to yahoo and do your own store.....

The way I understood it -

If you have your "shop" - it's $50 per month - and you could have as many items in it as you wanted -

If you only have one or two items, it's $5.00 per item for two months on the site.

$50 per month - that's too rich for my blood.

sewbizgirl 05-26-2011 06:21 PM

Even $5 per item is outrageous. And what are they giving you for the fee? Are they going to be advertising the site like crazy, paying out tons of money in ads that will be seen everywhere? Because that's what they owe their clients who are paying these exorbitant fees!

Why not just use Craigs List, isn't that free???

For the fee, I would imagine only very large/expensive items wii be posted or huge stashes. I cannot imagine getting a good deal with that sort of overhead.
