[QUOTE=ube quilting;6182527] I think this is fabulous. This woman knows how to live. She has no fear and can enjoy every minute of the life she has now.

Personally, I want to be a medical cadaver and be of some use after I quilt no more!

Sounds like you and I think alike on this subject. I am already registered and have my card.

We lost both my MIL and SIL a couple years ago. My MIL wanted to be buried, so we went the whole 9 yards; however, she had made and paid for most of the arrangements several years before. We discussed everything with my SIL's husband and decided to have her cremated. Luckily, he claimed the ashes. I have always opted to be cremated, and my husband changed his mind about the big funeral and has decided that he also wants to be cremated. I will leave it to my husband and children to decide what to do with the ashes, but I found out that you can make arrangements with the US Coast Guard to have your ashes scattered at sea, and I told them this was OK with me.

Cremation...just lost my Mom and she was cremated. Urns were so ugly and expensive at the funeral home. He said we could bring in anything as long as it was glass, ceramic or metal. When to department store and found a container...RED her fav color and ON SALE she loved a good bargain. I know she approves!

Don't think I'd want that around as a constant reminder. I plan on being cremated.

Just a gentle reminder. Even when you are cremated, make arrangements for the ashes. Whether to be scattered or stored. I am in possession of several relatives that I am concerned about when I pass. I don't want to burden my children with ashes of relatives they barely knew.

I have a paid pre need all set up already and want a quilt to cover the coffin. Flowers are pretty but SSSSSSOOOOOOOO expensive. Hugs

My fil passed last year; was cremated. We still needed to pay for a box; $125.00 to send the the body out. Am wondering if her storage unit might have worked?

my DIL told me to pay for mine ahead of time because they can't afford it. sigh. just dig me a hole in the backyard!
