I am using a very cheap muslin as my foundation. I really don't like tearing off the paper.

I didn't use the rulers she recommends. You can do any method you want that will give you a 3 1/2" half square triangle.

I have 10 finished and lots of partials. There is a lot of sewing on this part. My right hand has about had all it can take for today. I had carpal tunnel surgery a year ago and yesterday I slipped when we were getting freezing rain, and fell forward onto my hands and knees. My scar from the surgery really hurt today. Hopefully, it will feel better tomorrow and I can finish the rest of these blocks.

Love your blocks!!! This is the first time I've done string blocks and I'm starting to like them a bit. I have 30 done, 60 is a lot of strings. My sewing room is a mess with strings everywhere!

Oh! Sadie Mae! :-( I am so sorry for you!
I HATE falling, but to have you end up in extra pain, that is just too hard.
Just be kind to yourself and we will be praying for your bumps and bruises to be all better. <wave>

Bummer! I got a wonderfully wordy response for this, had to take a phone call, and came back and the silly net had DROPPED my prescient thoughts!
I was just complimenting you on your production sewing, and so glad that you got the added bonus of learning a new technique. Now, go find Ditter's tutorial on quilting strings as you go, and you will have the mess and a quilt done before you know it!.
The tutorial is not to be confused with this technique, but similar to foundation stitching with strings. <wave>
