Default S.E.A quilt shop in Gulf Shores

Went on vacation last week to Gulf Shores, Alabama. Not many quilt shoppes there (asked the lady in quilt shop if there were any others and she told me nope, we are it..only one.) Glad I found it...the S.E.A. Quilt Shoppe and was pleasantly surprised! Bought some great batiks and the cutest little fat eighth bundles to take back to friends as souvenirs. Met a nice lady gathering fabric for her art quilts. Bought some of that fabric too. If you are in the area, check it out...very nice fabrics, organized well, and friendly...doesn't get much better than that!

I'm going there in June with DD and SIL and grands for vacation Searched the forum for quilt shops in Gulf Shores and found yours. I hope the shop is still there.

It is a nice little quilt shop. It is often overlooked because of A&E in Pensacola.

There is also Fabrics by the Pound in a town north of there. But I was greatly disappointed, as the "by the pound" fabrics were all home decor, and the quilting fabric was on bolts, about $8 a yard. They do have a good variety though, and worth a trip. If you are driving south on 59 to Gulf Shores you will go right by it.

Well. SEA Quilt Shoppe was a bust. The hours said Monday - Sat. I went on my last day which was a Monday as I had a few hours to spare. It was closed. The shop is in an old house that looks like it hasn't been lived in in years. Junk piled up around it and on the covered porch areas. Down a road off a road and no other houses around. My DD was with me and she said Mom you can't go up to the door no one lives there. The yard hasn't been mowed and it looks snakey.
I did get out and looked in the window. I saw a wall of rulers and some bolts of fabric. Looked liked a quilt shop to me. I was bummed it was closed with no up date on the site. I knew I should have called first. Wasted a good hour.
