MSQ is about 8 1/2 hours from me. I go some of the special events they have there during the year. I like the Birthday celebration a lot. I drive almost there, spend the night, drive to MSQC and spend the day, back to the motel and back home the next day. It's a fun me time trip. When I want to go somewhere I get in the car and go. One day I won't be able to so I'm using up the time I have. I tell DH when I will be back if he doesn't want to go. LOL

I believe they even have one shop for parking husbands, while wives shop.

Well, for goodness sakes!!! Strike while the iron is hot. You do not want to miss the opportunity to go there. We went about 2014 and had a wonderful time.

I went to Burlington KS a couple years ago and flew in and out of Kansas City, MO. When I found how close it was to Hamilton, MO there was no other option but to leave early and spend a day (by myself) in Hamilton. My DH doesn't go to KS with m, my daughters like to go, but they greatly dislike going with me to fabric stores. That trip my niece was with me and her young twins. I took them to the airport and off I went. It was wonderful! They didn't have much in the way of places to eat when I was there so I would definitely do some exploring before I start shopping.

Jenny always projects a sunny, cheerful attitude. I'd love to go someday, but it's a 16+ hour drive from my home! A friend also wants to go. Who knows, maybe when she retires! I decided to drive to FL by myself, it wasn't so bad, and that was about the same distance from where I was a the time. Will definitely have to save up before going to MSQC, though!

Going to MCQC is just awesome! It's about 2 hrs away from me and we go a couple times a year--can't afford more! It just keeps getting better--while the town is still very small, the fabric shops bring in so many shoppers that the antique shops and food places have increased and do well too. There are hotels in Cameron, MO, just 10 miles west (and also a great quilt shop there too). One tip--before you go, make a list of what you might need--it's so easy to go from batiks, to reproductions, to florals, to Kaffe Fassett, to solids and blenders, etc (you get the picture) and be overwhelmed. And there is a man cave shop--easy chairs, several tv's, coffee bar, etc. (you see some quilters in there too resting for the next shop!) If you go with several friends it helps if each brings a large tote bag so as you shop you can drop off purchases at your car and keep them separate. Have fun!
