I've been using homemade spray starch for about two years now. Love it! Mine doesn't go bad! You add a tablespoon of lemon juice or rubbing alcohol to it. I got the recipe on here. I make a strong batch and use it on my applique, paint it on the edges with a paint brush, then iron and the edges stay put!!
