I have taken old calendars and cut the #'s out. then I pin a # to each row in order --stack with # on top and put together in a baggie. then as I sew I sew a diagonal line across the left edge of the top one so that marks the 1st row. I then lay them out as sewn so that I can see the design and make sure everything is right. Ask me how I know to make sure- had a big boo boo on the 1st learned the hard way. It is very easy to do this and is free, as everyon has an old calendars around.
