I found this story a good reminder to finish the quilts I start! https://jennykaequilts.wordpress.com...ts-not-fabric/

Moving story, thanks for sharing. Might want to put it on the 2018 UFO thread.

Sad story. When I die, I have one daughter who would take my fabric. I got my moms as my sister is a knitter and does not do quilts.

Oh, this rings lots of bells. I used to volunteer at a thrift shop. I was in charge of the crafts sections. The saddest times for me were going thru the donations from folks cleaning out Mom's and Granny's collection of fabrics and supplies, sometimes almost completed quilts. And, to think that no one in the family was interested.

But, sadder still was when donations on picture frames and photo albums came in with family photos still inserted. Now that is really sad!

Sad to say, a thrift shop will be home to all my fabric, UFOs, etc. when I die also. Guess I better get busy because I am a really little old lady in tennis shoes!

Definitely pulls on your heart strings...but isn’t it the truth. I’m sure each of us have great ideas, big goals and a healthy stash of fabric, but never enough time. I can say that I do not have (nor allow myself) more than a couple of projects at a time. I write a list of goals each calendar year and list any UFO’s on it as well. My most challenging finish for this year is On Ringo Lake but I am working on it weekly.

    Thank you NZquilter for sharing.

This story is heart-rending. I am afraid it could happen to me. I think I choose to enjoy my stash of stuff-it is a considerable collection and not worry about later. I wish someone in the family would love it and want it; but, that probably won't happen. But, I can enjoy it now.

Lovely story...at least the family did not throw it all away. Some do.

That is true, QuiltingNinaSue. Hopefully it all went to great charities and the finished quilts brought love to the ones who needed it.
