I used the triangles in the corners on some wall quilts last week. It works really well. My quilts were about 11x14 both horizontal and vertical. I used a 4" square and folded on the diagonal. spray starched it before pressing the crease in it. The starch controlled the movement between the layers when pinning then onto the corners.

For these hangings I use the 1/4" dowel. Then I made some strips from the binding fabric, folded them like I would if I was going to use them for buttonholes. I turned up the bottom about 3/4" and stitched to make a space to thread the dowel through. I then put the dowel in the corners and they were ready to hang by the buttonhole hanger.
