    These are simple coasters to make. I think a coffee filter would make a good circle template, or an oversize glass. You could even make placemats with bigger circles.

    The coffee can would work well too. I have some that are square that I bought at a fair b/4 I had even thought of taking up quilting and they are awesome when you have kids. My children, as toddlers, used to take coasters off the table and either bite on them b/c they were teething or bang them on the coffee table. I knew early one that the quilted ones were better than the wooden ones
