    About that unpicking of the top threads of the triangles. Would sewing the original "to be cut into triangles" strips with larger stitches and loosening the top tension make that job easier? Just lazy and sometimes massively clumsy, I guess.

    Doing that would loosen the stitches on the joining seam too and you don't want that...it's not that time consuming to pick those few stitches. But, I think I would like to make larger triangles....
