    Default Bernina Artista 185 trouble

Hi, I am fairly new to the Quilting Board. I haven't used my Bernina Artista 185 lately due to a move. I got it out the other day and I am having problems. I can get the program to show up on my computer but it does not want to read to the computer. Any suggestions?

Are you using a cable from your computer to the machine? I've got an older Bernina Artista 170 that doesn't use a USB drive and I'm wondering if the 185 is the same.

My Artista 180 uses serial ports instead of USB. Maybe you need a new cable?

You might want to try a different serial port.

One problem I had with my older Bernina 1090 is that the circut board failed and is not replaceable. My Bernina 180 is still going strong. If you can't figure your problem out, you might have to take it to be serviced.

The next machine I get will be mechanical. They last forever.

Thanks everyone. I ended up taking my computer along with the sewing machine to the Geek Squad at Best Buy. They were
able to fix the problem by putting a new download of the Bernina program on the computer. It works now.
