Cathy, Thanks for the information. Not sure about going into embroidery now. I'm discovering that I still have a long learning curve when it comes to free motion quilting.
J50, I looked into the thread painting and sketching. I was awed by what some accomplished. I doubt I ever will get into such, as though I have a lot of patience, I doubt I have the right type to do any of what I saw.

I happen to find your Saturn embroidery charming. Yep, I really like it. On my wall, I have a small picture done with freehand embroidery. It is of a little cottage surrounded by flowers and trees. The artist first water painted the fabric background and then did the stitching with her sewing machine free hand. you can tell it is an original not a bought embroidery design. I love it.
