The Designer SE is iffy. The company changed hands around that time and there were problems. I traded me SE in because of the constant thread jams that could never be repaired. It was great in the beginning. My dealer finally told me there we lots of SE machines with the same problem. If you got one it might be a great one or a lemon. Find a different model. I have 3 Viking machine at present and I love the machines, just not this one. I have owned Vikings since 1997 and worked for a dealer for awhile. I had 2 D1s at one time and they were great machines. I traded because the floppies were going out of use.
