i got it!!!! and i got it for $20.00. the seller just wanted it to go to a good home. there is not pedal or no knee lever. it does look like the bobbin shuttle is attached. the manual was with the machine but it is in pieces. when i looked at the general serial number info on singer's site, it showed the serial number range was in 1923.

i will post pics real soon.

okay here are some pics of my first vintage singer sewing machine. i told the seller that i have been sewing for over 45 years and she could let her mother know that i would take good care of this machine that belonged to the grandmother. it is a beauty but i will need to take it in to have it serviced, find a controller (whether foot or knee though it looks to be knee) and have the wires checked/replaced.

Does it have a foot pedal or a knee pedal? I paid $20 for one like this just to find out I needed a knee pedal and a key. I have been looking for both.

it looks to be a knee lever that is needed. i am currently looking for a vintage repair shop to take her in & have "josephine" serviced. i am naming her josephine. when i find my featherweight, she will be named "josephine II".

do you see a theme taking place here? :-)
