$7 auction finds
#1
The ladies of our church are working on some blankets for tornado victims. One lady brought in A BUNCH of stuff she got for $7 at an auction.
We've already put together a few blankets from her stuff. But the fun find was bits of blocks, probably excess pieces, that we are trying to put together for table runners. One was 10 blocks of an uneven log cabin. I set them in two rows and am looking thru her stuff to find something for a border. I'm guessing we'll be able to make at least 10 table runners. Maybe a few pillow tops. Another lady put together a couple lap robes by adding some sashing to existing blocks.
And there is probably 2 big garbage bags of all sorts of whites and off whites, and creams and beiges, mostly small pieces. I was going to leave all that until later to go thru--------------but my curiosity is killing me. I WILL FIGURE OUT SOMETHING TO USE ALL THAT ON!
oh, and some ticking that was made into a daybed cover and bunches of light weight red denim made into curtains. The daybed cover had some stains on it. I tested a corner of the ticking to see if it could stand bleach and glory be, it did. So into a good hot wash and it's stain free now. Took a seam ripper to all of it and got quite a bit of usable fabric. Made on huge 9 patch that will get backed with fleece.
I'll get some photos later when we have some of the table runners done.
