I'd call that beautiful quilting! If you don't think it's good then you certainly wouldn't want to see mine

That looks good. It just looks like it's been folded for a while. Think how easy it will be when you can move the machine like a paintbrush and not have to move the fabric. You will truly be an artist because you already have the basics down.

    it looks great.

as far as comparing your work to charisma all it takes is practice.

her first quilts weren't a work of art - she put in time and practice and if you too put in the work to master the art then you shall!!!

the feathers are terrific. i can't see what's in the stars well enough to see what that might need.

Honestly I think your feathers look great! One thing that Leah Day suggests on applique FMquilting is to always outline the applique part... in your case, the stars....they may not be appliqued, but going around them would help set them apart better from the feathers, kwim?

It truly does just take practice.....some move up faster than others, but I truly believe that everyone can FMQ!

Wish I could do as well as you. I'll bet if you picked up your various practice pieces and put them in chronological order you could easily see how you are getting better all the time. Keep at it! You've got plenty of ability.

I don't know what YOU'RE talking about, looks like pretty darn good "ability" to me. I wish my quilting looked even a quarter as good.

I am confused. That quilting is lovely.

You are doing a wonderful job, you don't need to copy someone elses work. Your work is beautiful.

Are you going to be doing this just for personal satisfaction? Or are you going to do it as a business? Either way, I think you are there! It looks very nice to me. But I understand where you are coming from on the perfection thing. I am so, so, so very far from perfection, but it is still what I am striving for. I get irritated when my stitches wobble or I get a long one in there. But I am not so much of a perfectonist that I rip it out. I guess I will never win any big ribbons.
