I told my older daughter that I was making a simple quilt for our daughter for her teacher which I call "a bed of flowers" it is from the big block patterns 8 different flower prints and sew four togeher add sashing and so on, my problem my daughter wants me to make each of my grandkids one for there teacher. They have already took 8 quilts. How much should I charge for a app. 48x48. Any advise would be appreciated. Oh summer quilt no batting.

Well...that is tricky...me I would have my daughter buy the materials and make them if I had nothing to do...but I doubt that I would have nothing to do...so I would decline unless I really wanted to do them.

I agree, show her how but if she has young children that might be hard to work into her day. Or like Carolaug, have her buy the fabric first.

if you are going to make these quilts i would charge her what it cost's to make them.
i have made lots of (personal) quilts for my kids and grandkids- every now and then one of them will call and ask me to make a (favor) quilt for them to give to some one else- i do these for the cost of the materials. i do not make a profit off my children but i do expect them to be responsible and when they want to give someone a gift they need to either make it or buy it

I would charge about $175 and she might want to make them herself for that.

Thats alot to ask of you, especially since you are recovering from surgery and she wants them in two weeks. She needs to either plan better or learn herself.
