We have a new 'second hand store'. It is called Value Village. I heard that there are others, especially in "DC".
Well, just wandering around today I went in hoping for some flannel. They sell yard goods all bundled in big trash bags. Not much choice, you buy the bag. But, the bag is clear so you can do a little selecting if you have several bags to look at. I looked, chose and bought, 2 sheets about 40" square, one juvenile print and one beautiful solid red flannel, ready for batting and quilting ! also, partial quilt top that measures about a yard square and very very fussy cut!, and what I think might be a table runner, anyway it is a beginning and it will be one shortly!, some jungle prints, a piece of tapersty material covered with Boyds Bears or similar to them, 3 yards of 36" wide white flannel with pink flowers, about six different pastel flannels, they were cut as if to make night gowns for children, but some were sleeves and some were yokes, and a few odd pieces, but lots of possibilities with it. Also, there were 30 pairs of pads. Some looked like shoulder pads and some looked like bra pads, you know like in bikinis......one piece of nice wool/polyester for slacks, and I think it is 1.5 yards and the last piece was tan polyester and it was 60 wide, I think and almost 2 yards long, too. all this for $3.00.....I be thrilled ! all I wanted was some flannel, Boy what a find!

    Blessings,
    Ruth

I like to frequent Value Village and other second hand stores in town. I am always on the lookout for bags of buttons, trim and fabric. I even go through the tablecloths and aprons. You just never know what you will find. Reasonable price, if you have time to go through it.

I should have said first off, have fun, because it is.

    Mrs. Pete,
Would you be interested in this flannel? it is 2 yards. No charge for you. I recall that you had interest in some children's material that I was selling but I had already committed it to someone else.

Please just let me know either way.

    Sincerely,
    Jennie
