My DH used to ask me all the time about my quilty purchases, until one day I told him they were cheaper than a private investigator or weekly therapy! His mouth dropped open...no answer! (he travels weekly...so he is away alot!) No more questions about quilt shop visits! lolol

Collection is good. I have always called mine a library. Every family needs a library. Of course we love books at our house. I think I will change to collection. This too is a favorite at our house.

I love your "story!" Went with a friend to an Eleanor Burns program in CA last month. Eleanor doesn't say she is hoarding a stash, she says she is "aging" her fabrics like fine wine!

My hubby asked once several years back Do you really need another pair of scissors? I replied how many screw drives and sockets do you need. While cleaning his work bench he found six 1/2 inch sockets! I have not heard from him again about what I buy. He says yes dear! I also tell people I collect fabric! I say my quilting keeps me off the streets and out of the bars! Not that I would do that I am just saying! We all need to just enjoy our passion! Make as many quilts as we have time for!

I find it takes a lot less of my life to spend on full afternoon (or day depending on how much I let pile up) getting caught up rather than take some time each day or so.

At last a sane explanation for a insane question. You just made my day.

Perhaps you would like to conduct a seminar for spouses and significant others of quilters and fabric collectors? If you do it online, we can all sign up our "others" and you can help so many at one time. For my DH, I think it will need to be at least a full weekend seminar. LOL
