    Just off 55, take the Rochester exit (I29). About 7 miles later, turn left at the second light onto East Main and follow the curve. On the left on the corner at the fire hydrant is a great place called "Peace and Applique." I can't say enough wonderful things about them and the shop.

    I've bookmarked this thread. My son lives near Joliet and we plan a visit this summer.

    So glad you can use this, too, katyquilter. After I checked on Judy's Arthur, IL several shops popped up on google. We'll be sure to check out a few since they are right off of 57 before we jump on 70.

    There are two great shops just East of Peoria, IL. One is called Peddlers Way and it is in Washington IL. It is on a side street just behind the town square. The other one is called Quilt Corner and it is in Morton IL. They are both well worth your time to stop and browse!

    Are you traveling I-57 for abit? Let me know how you plan to travel and I may be able to help. Morris has a wonderful store, as well as Peru. Bloomington has the Treadle, omg! It is overflowing. It is my mission to check out all the quilting stores I can throughout IL :)

    They received 3rd place for the best shop in the St,Louis area;

    1. Heyde Sewing Machine Co.5451 S Lindbergh Blvd St Louis, MO

    On the Illinois side this shop is very famous; Off I-70/55;

    2. ROSEMARYS FABRIC & QUILTS. 812 9TH STREET, HIGHLAND,Ill 62249 In the square

    This is a very popular on in Old Town Florissant (north off I-270)

    3. Helens Hen House Quit Shop
    180 W. Dunn Rd. Florissant, MO phone: 314-837-7661

    Haven't been to this one, but looks like fun;

    4. The Quilted Fox
    10403 Clayton Rd, Frontenac, MO 63131.
    Phone: 314-993-1181

    Here are a few...I don't know what area you will be in. For direction just google the shop and it will provide driving directions. Or just phone them...I included the numbers.

    Good luck and have fun.
