So we will see I have to just keep going till I get it done

I started out making 1 block at a time but that was taking to much time. So I have been doing chain piecing. Each night I have to do 1 step for all 50 blocks (Im doing the star block) I just finished all the flying geese last night and ironed them today.

So its going good I just have to keep at it. Thanks everyone I will definitely keep you posted
I think this is a great strategy. Usually I like to do one complete block at a time, but occasionally I have chain pieced to save time. Get all of the components chain stitched, then pressed and stacked. Then get to that machine and chain piece the next set of components, etc. You'll do it. Even if the top is complete and needs to be quilted later. Nothing wrong with doing it that way. I know, because I had to do that for a graduation gift a couple of years ago. Good luck and get to work!

 I wish I could twitch my nose and zap myself over there to help you.

It is very pretty, you absolutely can do this. Just keep in mind how much you love him and how much he will like it. He will think it's the prettiest quilt he has ever seen and will mean so much to him that you spent so much time and effort on doing this just for him. Good Luck

You are more than half way there. The time you spend 'fretting' about it, is time yu could be sewing. It will be wonderful and he will love it.
