Default 10 degree wedge ruler tree skirt pattern

Has anyone done the pattern that is in the ruler package. It shows to stagger the rows, does any one know why? Also I am unable to figure out how to lay the ruler, it tells and shows a picture of how and where but when I do that it is short on both ends. I have only one set sewn together and can go no further until I get this figured out.

Here are some instructions to make the tree skirt that might be easier to understand. http://northwindsquilting.blogspot.c...rt-part-1.html

It says the ends are staggered because the ruler is placed at an angle which would also be why you are coming up short. If you place the ruler perpendicular to the strips, you will be short on both ends.

I made it as a sample for my LQS where I work part time. I did not keep the finished project, but I don't remember having a great deal of difficulty when making it. Hope you can figure it out. It turned out great if I remember. One of my strips was a red and green plaid. I'll see if it's still around tomorrow when I work.

I have been in contact with the pattern maker and she has been very helpful. I just heard back from her again and she seemed to think one not the narrowest rows was wider than stated in the pattern. Since I have all my fabric cut I am just going to add another row, I have enough fabric so it will be ok.

I haven't done that one but have used it for the Spicy Spiral table topper. You might check for YouTube videos or one company that makes the rulers shows that they have videos.
