10 Minute Block
I have these blocks for a quilt top, but I'm not feeling it at all. My daughter likes the colors but it's really busy. Any suggestions? I have 2pks of 5" blocks and fat quarter bundle of the same fabric left over.
But I'd rather hear from you all.
Thanks

I think its very pretty. I'd add a fairly wide border of the gold or blue, then bind using one of the dark prints.

In looking at it, you have the gold going different directions. Also you have the blue centered patches side by side. I would use the gold patches in all 4 corners and one in the middle, all going the same direction, then use the blue center patches to fill in. It would be great to use a blue thread on the gold to tone it down, but to enhance it by quilting it like ends of a flower. I would not use sash strips. Of course, this is only a suggestion. I love the colors.
In looking at it again, try putting the gold strips all in a row. That way it would come down the quilt from corner to corner. Then try it with the blue ones from corner to corner. Every time I scroll up to see it, I see something else.
Now I see a bowtie from corner to corner with the plainer patches. I would use a small gold border to start with, then add a larger bright flowered one, ending with the blue border. Thanks so much for showing it!
