I am confused ( what else is new,lol) When you connect the squares to the middle square are they right sides together or back to back. I watched the video several times and still can't figure it out......thank yo9u for your help,. Michele

it says fold wrong sides together and place on top of the side blocks

The two outside squares are right sides together, the middle square is folded in half, right sides out, put in between the two outside squares.

Make it like a sandwich, all good stuff to the inside.

bottom fabric -right side up
folded fabric-right sides up/out -good stuff touching
top fabric-right sides down
