QM - While the orange gives your blocks individuality, the blue makes 'em float. I like the blue, but you go for the look ya like.

I thought you said you were a Steelers fan. Why the Broncos fabric? I like the idea of using the dark blue for sashing. That way you get a secondary pattern with the diamonds. Cornerstones should be as shown.

If I knew what I wanted, I would have this quilt done. I am working hard to finish this for the neighbor, Airforce, who is leaving soon overseas again. this will be the third time in four years he has had to go overseas. He is being stationed somewhere where it is much colder than Iran, so need him warmed in the heart as well as the body. LOL

We bicker over which team is better, Steelers or Broncos. I had to eat a little crow, not to bad tasting, because the Broncos beat my team this year. The neighbors and us call each other the Hatfields and the McCoys. The even more comical part is my daughter babysits for them all the time and their kids adore her.

Really like the blue because of the diamond it makes. What about the blue for the stashing and the orange for the cornerstones?

Thank your neighbor for his service. He'll love the quilt.

Love the mattress pad idea. Sounds easy to do too. I'll get on to it once all my boxes leaning against the wall have been unpacked....Thanks for the idea. J

Not that I want more work with this fabric, but do you think a 4" star of some sort for the cornerstones or would that be to busy. I do lean more towards the blue for that secondary pattern then with some sort of star block for the cornerstones that would finish the effect. Depending on which color goes in the sashing, then I was going to follow with the other for a zinger border then outside border with the bronco fabric again. Yep, the backing is bronco as well. He has currently threatened me not to put any steeler fabric whatsoever in it. I am considering at least quilting in go steelers. He probably would never find it but I would still have it in there at least once. LOL
