It's getting to be the home stretch for this UFO! I've had the top assembled for a while now - it's a simple scrappy brick in bright, pretty colors. I finally got a back pieced this weekend (a bunch of backs, actually) and now I'm on to quilting. This is only my second attempt at FMQ, so I'm dealing with imperfect stitches and eyelashes. But dangit, it's getting done! I need to send it along to my cousin and her parents in Washington state - they're going through a tough time in the hospital right now. I did some squiggles in the ditch prior to FMQ, hence the foot on the machine.

Here's the top for reference. It's a terrible shot for colors - they're really vibrant and gorgeous in person!

Jennalyn: Love the quilt. Did something similar on the back of one of my quilts. Really like the look!

I got my setting triangle fabric...what do you think? A lot of the fabrics have a little red in them.

Oh and I was very happy to discover the 2 blocks I needed made, just sticking to some other fabric so didn't have to make any more.

Carrie: Absolutely love the red, it harmonizes the whole quilt. The border sets of the center without detracting from the whole. I really like all your choices, I don't see how it could have turned out better.

When I first saw the red--I thought it was a little too red--not realizing the border fabric was on the right hand side, And yes now it definitely works. One thing I would do (IMHO) is distribute the blocks that have some red in them more evenly around the quilt. Kinda looks like you have a "hole" with no red showing on the middle left and bottom. Maybe you're not done placing blocks yet either. Some people get sew much done!
