There is no strict definition of a UFO. You decide and define it as you please. In my world, you described R and D...research and development, not a UFO.

    Pretty projects everyone!

I'm working on these 4 Warm Wishes tops for Project Linus. I posted a picture of the bottom one in the UFO Challenge thread as it is finished, I'm sewing down the binding on the 2nd one from the top tonight and will be quilting the other 2. I pieced all of these in 2008 when I was on a Warm Wishes binge. I still have some kits that I cut up at the same time - love this pattern!

Here is the quilt I am working to finish this month. The blocks are sewn into rows now (just laid out in this picture). I do QAYG so will do that next week. I have my borders and backing cut. I will cut backing and start pinning this weekend.

Oh and I don't think I "introduced" myself on this thread...but I am Carrie from IA and my goal is to finish at least one UFO each month this year. I have one new quilt I need to make for a gift and some retreat gifts to sew by early March, but otherwise am going to try to finish those quilts I have started or have already bought fabric for.

Hi Carrie! Your quilt is beautiful - I love those dramatic colors! And some really intricate blocks too... I like the one with all the teeny HSTs on the lower right.

I started 2013 by creating a UFO I took off on a paper piecing project, only to discover a long way into it that one of the sections didn't scale correctly when I printed it out. I measured the first page I printed, and thought all the pages would scale the same way. So I have all these sections ready to assemble into nine 12.5 inch blocks, but have to remake "section D" of each block. Hmm. What did I learn from this?? Yeah: measure each print out and then assemble a whole block before making all the sections for 9 blocks.

Trying to figure out how I could use what I have, I rearranged the pieces from a baby quilt layout to a table runner, which makes me closer to a finished product. I think I still have enough fabric for that configuration. I am so discouraged by all the incorrect section D's I can't use, though. I put everything into a box and haven't worked on it for a couple of weeks.

I wish we could keep it raining by quilting! It was a nice rain event while it lasted. I hope we don't wait too long for the next one!

    Therapy time...

Hi, I'm Fraew and today I am suffering from the "UFO spin". What's that? It's just like cleaning up in the kitchen. You pick up stuff that needs to go in the living room, go to the living room and the plant needs water, so you get water for the plant and see the letter that needs to be mailed. But, stamps are upstairs so go upstairs to get a stamp, see the towel that someone left on the floor in the bathroom. Pick up the towel, run it down to the laundry as you pass the mess that still needs to be cleaned up in the kitchen!

    Or is that just me???

That's what I have been doing the last few days with my UFOs!!! Work on The Bonnie Hunter Mystery - Easy Street (which is just like the song that never ends), grab some swap blocks to "quickly" set, bind a quilt, select fabric for Boom blocks and on and on and on!

Well I say enough is enough! Today, I will work on binding (don't have machine access right now) and tonight I will work on the song that never ends (Easy Street). That's it and that's that!

Now everyone...pick up 1 UFO. Just 1 and do something with it. Post your questions, problems and solutions. Let's help each other get to that 1 finish for January. 12 days to go!

I thought I was the only one who did that. I wonder why it takes so long anymore to straighten up my house. I can't stay in one place long enough to accomplish anything. Old age is wonderful!
