    I'm late responding to this - didn't see it until today, but I'd like to add that my favorite way to audition fabric combinations is using Windows Paint program, which is a freebie that comes with Windows. It's a remarkably powerful tool, and pretty easy to use once you get past its quirks. Just for example, here are some examples of D9P blocks I got by experimenting with your fabric pictures.

    Whatever you decide to do, I hope you will fussy cut those squirrels. They are just too cute!
