Is 39"X50" a good crib quilt size?

What a wonderful quilt! You did great picking out interesting fabric and colors.
I think your measurements are fine. When I make a baby quilt I try to make it large enough so a toddler can enjoy it too. With my kids they kept their quilts for a long time so a larger one works best.
I thought my son was going to take his to college!

What a beautiful quilt! Check out the warm and natural batting. The size it is, is the size you want to make your quilt. Buy it buy the package for the quilt size you need. It is actually cheaper that way. I get mine from Born to Quilt. (not affiliated) Otherwise, here is a chart I sometimes use.
Baby 45" x 56" Twin 66" x 96" Double 76" x 96" Queen 82" x 102" and King 99" x 119". I do make my Kings wider than 99". I have a 6'1" stocky built husband. This way he doesn't hog the cover. Silvia

Your quilt is very beautiful and lively. kSometimes I take the finished top to fabric stores and see what iinspires me. any kind of border would be nice. You might even use one with clouds/blue sky or white or blue or checked. The size is good.
