Maybe you could print this off and take it in to share with them. Maybe it will just take time for them to "accept" you, I know that sounds awful and it is awful, but sometimes these things happen. Maybe they will lighten up if you make them relax a little.

Here's my all time reason..."But Baby, sewing for the girls is just so much cheaper than buying already made things, and they don't often come with matching baby doll items". Followed by a quick sweet kiss on the cheek and a REALLY good dinner which includes home-made biscuits. :D
