Thursday I went to Walmart and thought I bought 3 spools of clear monofilament thread. I'm happily FMQ on a log cabin, and my first spool runs out. No problem; I have two more. Well, somehow either I did not make it home with all 3 spools or two of them developed legs and are hiding out. Further investigation shows that only 1 spool was purchased. The other two must have made their great escape in the shopping cart. Luckily, there is a LQS just about a block from my house and is open on Sundays. Hate that though since they are expensive on everything. Our city bus doesn't operate on Sundays, so I have no way to get to Walmart. What to do? I can wait until tomorrow and pay the $3.00 for the bus trip, or take a refreshing walk in the drizzling rain to the LQS so I can complete my Log Cabin today. I'll let you know. :XD:

Oh no! I hate when things like that happen. If it was a short walk and not going to rain more than a drizzle, I would probably grab my umbrella and enjoy the walk. But I have a yucky cold and would just wait til Monday because I would be aggravated with myself. LOL!!!

Hmm, seems to me if you walk to the LQS, even though they charge more per spool you will probably pay about the same when you figure in bus fare to walmart. Additionally, I bet the LQS probably has spools of monofiliment that hold more than the WM spools so you may just end up getting it cheaper when you figure how much you are paying per yard of thread.

I walked to the LQS. I almost didn't see it at first, but there were the clear and the smoke color. Only one size spool though. 400 yds @ $2.20. so I went ahead and bought two of them. I also picked up a piece of template plastic for 1.90. It is 18x24. That's the first I've seen of that in this town except in Walmart where they want to sell you this for almost $4.00 for 3 8x12". It is in with the stenciling supplies and not in with quilting items. So, all in all, I made a good choice to take the rainy hike. I would have been sitting here all grumpy and pouty if I couldn't have found it. Not like I didn't have something else to do though.
