Default ? about the Brother Project Runway LB-6800PRW

Anyone on the Board have one? I found a good deal for under $700 on Amazon for this along with lots of extra's that they claim come to over $1200 additional dollars. For me this is a major purchase and I don't want to make one in haste but my Janome just isn't acting right and it's so frustrating to work on.

Any info on the above machine by folks who own one would be greatly appreciated. Huge storm right on our doorstep right now, wish me luck.

The SE400 is the same exact machine without the extra accessories and the Project Runway name, and the cost (sometimes $300.00 cheaper).

I don't have one. I have a Brother LS2125i which I love. I have been dreaming of a Brother Project Runway but they are so outside my price range especially when my current one is working fine.

Amazon has a SE 400 for $360.00 and it is the exact same machine as the LB6800PRW. The difference is that the the SE400 does not come with the Grand Slam Package and the rolling cart. Big difference between $799 and $360. check this out: http://www.brotherse400.com/brother-...brother-se400/

I have an SE400 and really enjoy the little machine. I have had no problems with it. It was my first computerized machine and it was quite a wonderful upgrade for me at the time and it really helped me gather some of my love for sewing back. I use it primarily for sewing now that I have a Babylock Esante but do occasionally use the embroidery part since I can use the Disney designs on it and can not use them on my Babylock. Since I do not travel with my machines, having the extra accessories was not necessary for me. Two things.... I love the needle threader and also be sure that you have a computer nearby for transferring designs. It is very easy machine to use in my opinion. also just a note, i use metro embroidery thread in my SE400 and have had no problems. and with the numerous colors I am always wanting it was nice to use an inexpensive thread and actually have it work.

Also if you just want the machine and a small carry case, the following might be an option as it is in the mid $300 range.... http://www.amazon.com/Brother-LB6800...pr_product_top

I own a Brother LB 6800 PRW. I've had it for a couple of years. Nice working sewing machine, no problems with it.
Price you are quoting is high though. I just checked through Amazon and saw a new one for less than $400 and free shipping. You might want to check into it again.

I believe the higher priced one includes the Grand Slam Package, the one on Amazon doesn't mention that package.

Anyone with this machine done any quilting? I have recently started doing some free motion quilting, and I am having trouble with the tension. I think the bobbin tension needs to be adjusted, but cannot figure out how to do that. Any suggestions, thanks!!
